Non Perishable food and blankets needed for December 22nd
Favor Foundation is the product of a shared vision given to Mrs. Shontia Gilliard and Mrs. Glenda Backman. These women and their families have a heart for helping others.
Due to the overwhelming homeless situation in Charleston, SC it is important that we partner with local businesses and supporters to provide the basic necessities that so many go without.
It is also our goal to assist in finding sustainable employment and permanent homes that will give families a fresh start.
Your donations of non perishable goods, gently used clothing, toiletry items, bottled water, your time and your prayers is imperative.
We have been able to help over 300 families this year already.
Thank you for helping us achieve our goal.
Favor Foundation is in the process of obtaining our 501(c)3. We are a public charity and we assist Charleston's poverty stricken, homeless and those in crisis with food, clothes and resume and or job assistance.
On October 6th of this year we held a vendor fair to raise money for a much needed outreach in the Chicora/Cherakee area of North Charleston. This outreach is going to take place at the Gussie Green Community Center at 2012 Success Street on December 22nd from 10 until 3. The Chicora/Cherakee area is very run down and there are over 500 people in extremely low and no income situations. There is a Veteran only facility in this area and many homeless in need of help.
We will be providing free of charge a hot meal, compliments of Kay's Southern Gourmet, Sabor CubaRican Cuisine and Burgers N'Freys Food trucks and more. We will also have the grill going! We are working towards having enough groceries and clothes for every attendee to take a bag with them.
This act of love to this community needs a village to help. We are collecting non-perishable food items, winter wear such as socks, blankets and gloves that will help keep our homeless warm and fed this winter. If you can collect goods, buy a blanket or have an extra blanket or sweater to give away we need it! Please call if you're willing to do a drive.
Donations will be collected through December 1st.
We need volunteers too so please call 843-779-7719
Kay's Southern Gourmet has been cooking with love in Charleston for four years. Ms. Kay has a heart for others and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for donating her time and food to feed attendees on December 22nd. If you see Ms. Kay in the community order an extra item just to tank her please! You can follow Kay's Southern Gourmet on Facebook to see where to find them next.
Sabor CubaRican Cuisine is run by the Hernandez Family and we can't say enough great things about this company and their food. Sabor has raised awareness in the community by collecting food and blankets for the outreach in December. Look for the blue Favor bins and donate a can good or a blanket and you'll even receive a treat. You can follow Sabor CubaRican Cuisine on their Facebook page. Thank you for supporting Favor Foundation and showing North Charleston some love!
Who doesn't love burgers and fries! The owners of this food truck have a heart for outreach and it shows. Both in the truck and out of it Ms. Jill gives back in the community with her whole heart and you'll taste the love in the fries. Also on Facebook just look them up to see where they will be through the winter but December 22nd they will be giving back to the community. Thank you for your service B'NF.
Favor Foundation was blessed this week to welcome Seaside Family Medicine to our growing list of supporters for December 22nd outreach. I visited the office and found Mrs. Donna more than accomodating to give me the tour of this new prestine clinic. I loved it! From the church pew waiting room to the cathedral mirrors, it was beautiful and warm. Seaside will be providing free blood pressure checks to willing attendees in the Chicora/Cherokee outreach. In the mean time if you need services at a reasonable rate you can find them in Summerville at 1341 College Park Rd Suite A. They are open after hours which is a huge plus for us working folks.
Seaside Family Medicine also is a new food distribution location for those in need. Mention you saw them on this website!
We have several food banks we work with to make sure you get the food you need for your family.
We can work with you to build the resume that will enable you to find suitable employment.
Through various organizations we will help you find the right job for you.
